So…being a mother to a 5 day old little boy has been a experience I had never imagined. So many ups and downs! At it’s highest: holding him and making eye contact with those beautiful blue eyes. It’s lowest, after his surgery and seeing his face splotchy and red from doing so much crying…a moment that I cried with him.

I have struggled with things that I didn’t expect to struggle with, and didn’t struggle with things I thought I would. Although painful at first, labor and birth went rather quick! I was in a daze until I finally got my epidural and paid no attention to the time. It is a good thing Anthony was there! It took me awhile (and it still hasn’t completely sunk in, yet) to realize that this little, tiny 6 lb human was MINE. I am a MOTHER. It is both an amazing and terrifying experience all at once! I am scared of the struggles ahead, but I am proud to call Isaiah my son. He has already proven to be stronger than he seems and is the most handsome little baby I have ever laid eyes on. He has gotten compliments from so many people, already!

Then there is Anthony. I never thought our love could be stronger, but it has grown about 10 times its size. Seeing the glow on his face when looking at his son, and hearing him talk excitedly about every little cute thing he does. He has been super protective of him, watching him closely. I have never seen a love quite like a father has for his son, and it makes me love them both all the more!

Basically, these last 5 days have been a whirlwind of hormonal breakdowns, overjoyed happiness, and crazy experiences! I have surprised myself with what I can and cannot take. He has my cheeks and nose, and Anthony’s lips, eyes, and ears. Isaiah James Robison has, without a doubt, changed my world for the better!

It’s incredible what a little baby can do. Although I knew he would be amazing at it, Anthony has been out of this world! He has been hands-on involved throughout this entire adventure, thus far. His love for his son has been nothing I like had ever seen! I am so in love with these two, it’s crazy!

Birth Story: Wednesday night/early Thursday at 12:30am, my water broke. Called the doc and he told me to go ahead in. Although in a lot of pain, I was only 2 cm and not progressing like I should have, so they put me on Pitocin. After 5 centimeters, I was finally able to get the epidural! And the guy did awesome! At one point, they checked me and guessed it would be about 5-6 more hours. But about 3 hours later, Isaiah was born at 2:24pm! Everyone was shocked how quick everything was, being a FTM. It was also a big shock, being a boy! So many people though it would be a girl! DH was involved throughout the whole thing! Everything went super smooth and amazingly!
The next day, we found out that our poor little Isaiah had a problem with his right testicle and he would need to be taken to a children’s hospital that night. Without getting into too much detail, they ended up having to do some preventative surgery on him. :(. It was hard to watch, when it took 3 tries to get his IV needle in, and it was hard that night. When we got to see him I couldn’t help but cry for him because his face was red from crying so much. That night, it was difficult, because just when he would be settled down and asleep, someone else wanted to come in and check his vitals or take a look at him, poking and prodding, and unravelling all his warm blankets to check the incisions. Finally, he refused to be put back in bed, so DH and I switched off and on holding and rocking him. Needless to say, DH and I got barely any sleep. We finally got to come home in the early afternoon, and he came home to some family spoiling him, and no more poking and prodding!
He took everything like a champ and like the tough little guy he is! He is doing great and we are so proud of him! He melted everyone’s hearts, in the hospital and got so many compliments! :) <3

I find it weird that I am now a junior.
It feels like just the other day I was walking into E.A.Cox as a sixth grader.
Gosh, the older I get, the days seem to get shorter and shorter.
I’m excited for next year but I know it won’t be the same.

And time just gets faster, believe it or not! Enjoy every moment you can! Exciting things to come!

I seriously feel like I JUST posted one of these! The week has really flown by! I will get a pic up as soon as I can. The photo is on Anth’s phone, and he still hasn’t sent it to me yet, due to being so busy at work!

What I’m Doing Currently:  Smart Ones pasta for lunch (delish!) and now just chillin’ and FINALLY getting to my thank yous! Sorry for the delay! :(

Sleep: Some nights I sleep really well, considering, but some days…not so much. The last two nights, I have woken up feeling like I can’t breath well. I have no idea where this came from, but it would be nice if it went away!

Gender: It’s a surprise!

Names: We have the boy name picked out, but guess what? It’s a surprise! Still working on the girl name.

Symptoms/Movement: Movement has definitely gone down! No more hard jabs left and right (and down and sideways….). However, I did have to snicker a little when, after I had two hard sneezes, LO kicked a big strong kick as if to say “Mommy! Stop that!”.

Evenings are so hard anymore. I have all kinds of aches and am usually so worn out! Last night, though, I randomly started doing things to get ready. Not a ton (and I definitely did not have the energy), but enough to make me wonder if it’s the “nesting” creeping up? I hope it lasts through Wednesday, cause I will have ALL DAY to clean as I wish!

Cravings: Nothing, really. Ice cream, chocolate. The usual.

Pondering: So many things to do! All I want to do, is stay at home and clean! I am even MORE anxious to find out about whether we get this apartment or not! I’m ready to get on with things!

Favorite moment this week: I was really kind of excited when doc told me, while checking my progress, that he felt LO’s head! It made me realize how much everything hasn’t quite hit me yet! It is still hard to picture myself with a BABY! I am getting soo excited!

What’s going with Little One this week:

Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you’re planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason to intervene earlier.)

Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

I can’t believe we are at 9 MONTHS now! Holy smokes!!! How exciting and scary!

What I’m Doing Currently:  Lunch! and reading “The Mockingjay”.

Sleep: has improved again! I swear..it’s insane how each week differs from each other! I still have to get up about once a night to go to the bathroom, but oh my goodness I am in love with these nasal strips! I no longer have to get up throughout the night needing a drink, or waking up in the morning with super chapped lips! Anthony says they have made a BIG difference on my breathing (aka snoring..hehe).

Gender: It’s a surprise!

Names: We have the boy name picked out, but guess what? It’s a surprise! Still working on the girl name. Why is it so difficult?!

Symptoms/Movement: Movement has gone down a tad-especially in the morning. But I chalk it up to not having a whole lot of room TO move! We are getting close!

I now get menstrual-like cramps and Braxton Hicks multiple times a day. Just the other day, while working, my stomach was hard as a rock for most of the night! I mentioned this to doc, but he wasn’t concerned and told me that will happen as we get closer. I am also exhausted quite a bit. I am really hoping to get some energy back before LO gets here, because the list of “To Dos” hasn’t really budged much. Also, my feet have been swelling like I’ve never seen! I don’t recognize my feet anymore! One evening, I could barely even put my crocs on, which happen to be the only things that fit right now!

Cravings: Chocolate, as usual, but other than that, this section has been kind of boring.

Pondering: My long list of things to do. I have also made a new game with myself. Everywhere we go, I wonder what would happen if my water were to suddenly break right then and there, or if I suddenly started getting actual contractions. I then end up making a game plan of what we would do and where we would go. Like I said, I feel like a ticking time bomb!

Favorite moment this week: Visiting the family for the weekend! Also, Anthony had his head on my belly and suddenly, he said he could hear LO’s heartbeat! It was so awesome! He was so amazed! Such a cool moment!

What’s going with Little One this week:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She’s shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she’s in a head-down position. But if she isn’t, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an “external cephalic version,” which is a fancy way of saying she’ll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Baby Robison: Week 35

Tooootally forgot about this, this week and didn’t take a pic! Maybe I will get one up, soon!

What I’m Doing Currently: Just got done eating a delicious salad, and taking a break from reading “Catching Fire”.

Sleep: …has gone slightly downhill. I am generally just uncomfortable all night, and I can tell when LO doesn’t like the position I am in, when he/she starts kicking and kicking until I move! I also get up to go to the bathroom at least once a night, now, but usually at the same time, every night. Still, though, it could be worse!

Gender: It’s a surprise!

Weight Gain: Still going up! Every week, I go on most of the week not gaining a thing, and in fact, I sometimes lose a pound. Then, out of nowhere, I check the scale and BAM up 2 pounds! Where does that come from?!?! My work will definitely be cut out for me, after LO arrives.

Names: It’s a surprise!

Symptoms/Movement: So much movement, it hurts! I think LO even decided to push his booty out for awhile. It hurt so much, I finally pushed back a bit until he/she went back! It also seems like he/she decides to spread all out and I can feel little hands or feet on both sides of my tummy and towards the top! I think LO is just DONE being cramped! And hey…who can blame ”im? Then, of course, there are the hiccups! The poor thing has been getting them every day, at least once!

Still getting those cramps. They were about once a day, until today I had a little more strong ones twice. I admit, it scared me a bit, but it’s looking like LO is gonna have to be cooped up in there a little longer!

Cravings: A chicken salad! And it just so happened, that Anthony went out with a friend to see a movie and go to Denny’s, so I he picked me up a salad for lunch today! It was SO delicious! :)

Pondering: The things we still need to get ready! Also, what to get the little bro for his bday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUSTIN!

Favorite moment this week: The first thing I think of is when we cleaned and started putting away LO’s clothes! Things are coming together! I can’t get enough of those little outfits, socks, shoes, and hats! It seems crazy to me that, very very soon, we be putting LO in some of these outfits and taking about a billion pictures!

What’s going with Little One this week: Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that he’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, he isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Anonymous asked: are you planning to go see 'the beatles: the lost concert' film?

No, I’m not. But my husband is a Beatles fan, so we may end up renting it at some point!
